In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi (侘寂) is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection.

[2]The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of appreciating beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete" in nature.

[3] It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence (三法印, sanbōin), specifically impermanence (無常, mujō), suffering (苦, ku) and emptiness or absence of self-nature (空, kū).

When Alli shared this term with me, it grabbed at my heart in the most beautiful way. I immediately thought of our magical crystals…. The perfect example of Wabi-Sabi demonstrated in nature. In our consumer-driven, manufactured, perfectly-curated, modern life, we’ve lost the beauty of this practice. However, crystals bring it forward again, reminding us of the magic in the mess. That beauty isn’t void of imperfections, but rather encompasses the whole. This month, we are using the practice of Wabi-Sabi to harness the energy of the Embody Collection, a practice of radical, heart-centered acceptance of what is…. What is the beauty that can be found in the uncontrollable? What is the magic in the mess? Where can we find surrender, ebb and flow, give and take? The Embody Collection is the intersection of the beauty in the imperfect, the wholeness in our broken, the alchemy of the ordinary.
